Give away my vote… Over my dead body…
Earlier on today I read something that really disturbed me. It should also disturb you…
A project launched today by the Egality organisation is urging British voters to donate their democratic right to vote to third world citizens from Ghana, Afghanistan and Bangladesh.
Good god please tell me this isn’t even remotely near the truth. You might as well be sending these people a free passport and a plane ticket.
Now this next bit is quoted directly from the Egality news post:
“We are recruiting thousands of people in the UK to give away their votes, in the UK General Election, to people in Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Ghana – three countries directly affected by UK policies on war, climate and poverty.”
They are asking YOU to give away YOUR vote. Now this has got to be the most stupid, disgusting request ever. I have never read such utter utter bollocks (Apart from may be some of the stuff I ramble on about). People in our history have fought hard to provide you the right to vote, and some of you are thinking about just giving it away? What would the Suffragette’s think of you ladies?
Does this mean I will be able to vote on issues regarding their policy’s? I very much doubt it. I also just read a brilliant comment “yeah. Ill leave my key in the door too, so anyone can come in and have a go on the missus !”
I can’t believe there are people stupid enough to even bring this concept in to a reality. I am beyond words on this issue, and there is nothing to even remotely describe the lunacy of this poorly thought out idea.
